Cary Academy

Ali is a development professional with experience in educational fundraising and engagement. A native of eastern North Carolina, she graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and began her career in fundraising at the UNC School of Law, later transitioning to the College of Arts and Sciences. In these roles, Ali organized alumni engagement events, collaborated with foundation boards, and secured major gifts to support both graduate and undergraduate education.

After five years at UNC, Ali quit her job and moved to California with her husband. On the west coast, she spent six years at Stanford working in their reunion giving programs. In her first years, she oversaw the giving campaigns for the 10th and 50th reunions, and then oversaw the management of all reunion class giving campaigns, securing support for undergraduate education, including financial aid, student programs, and student experiences.

In 2018, realizing NC was just too far away, Ali and her family returned to North Carolina. She currently leads the development program at Cary Academy. As their director of development, Ali manages all aspects of fundraising, volunteer engagement, and events, overseeing the securing of annual gifts, major donations, corporate sponsorships, and event support.

In her free time, Ali enjoys running and being outdoors and spending her time with her family. She and her husband, Brett, have two daughters, ages 7 and 9. They are in second and fourth grade at The Raleigh School.
