TAC POLICIES AND RULES

All TAC Staff on duty shall enforce all pool rules and have the authority to suspend pool privileges if rules are violated.

  • Tobacco/Drugs/Alcohol: Smoking, smokeless tobacco, illegal drugs, beer, and other alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the premises.
  • Food & Beverages: Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the facility. Only water and sports drinks are permitted on the pool deck.
  • Pool Deck Access: Only active swimmers and certified coaches may access the pool deck. Swim events may have their own deck access protocol which must be approved by TAC management. Non-participants require TAC staff approval and a signed waiver.
  • Locker Rooms & Footwear: No bare feet outside locker rooms or pool areas (except during organized classes). Children over age 5 may not use the opposite-sex locker room; unisex restrooms are provided.
  • Lockers: Lockers are for day use only unless rented monthly or annually in conjunction with an active swim pass, class, or team registration. Unauthorized locks will be removed; items will be held for two weeks before donation. Guests must provide their own locks. TAC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items from lockers (locked or unlocked).
  • Personal Belongings: Keep books, bags, coats, and other items in lockers; they are not allowed in activity areas. Guests are responsible for their belongings at all times.
  • Conduct: Harassment, foul or abusive language, unsportsmanlike behavior, and rude conduct are not tolerated. Misuse, abuse, moving, or removal of TAC property is prohibited. Violators are financially responsible for damages and may lose facility privileges.
  • Health & Safety
    • Individuals with infectious or communicable diseases may not use the TAC pools.

    • All wounds must be properly covered before entering the water. Anyone with Band-Aids, blisters, cuts, rashes, stitches, or open wounds is not permitted in the pools.

  • Animals: Pets are not permitted, except service/support animals clearly identified by vest.
  • Guests & Access: Guests are permitted only during facility hours and must register and sign a waiver at the front desk before use. Multipurpose rooms are for pre-approved use only.
  • Phones: A public phone is available in the lobby; all others are reserved for TAC business.
  • Supervision: A building supervisor is on duty at all times. Direct facility or program questions to the supervisor.
  • Enforcement: Guests and visitors must follow all TAC rules. Violations may result in suspension or revocation of privileges.

The safety of our swimmers, families, and staff is our top priority.

  • Triangle Aquatic Center (TAC) staff closely monitor local radar and weather reports for any signs of severe weather. If necessary, pools will be closed and guests asked to exit the water. The facility will remain open, and closed pools will reopen as soon as conditions allow.
  • Because weather can change rapidly, we cannot predict in advance if or when pool closures will occur, or how long they will last. All decisions are made on a case-by-case basis by facility staff with safety in mind.
  • Showering: All swimmers must take a cleansing shower before entering the pools and after using the restroom.

  • Swim Diapers: Children age 3 and under must wear swim diapers. Regular diapers are not permitted in any TAC pool.

  • Health & Safety
    • Individuals with infectious or communicable diseases may not use the TAC pools.

  • Diving: Diving in shallow areas is prohibited.

  • Child Supervision:

    • Non-swimmers and children age 5 and under must be accompanied in the water by a parent, guardian, or chaperone at all times (except during classes).

    • Chaperones must be at least 14 years of age.

    • Children age 11 and under must be supervised at all times by a parent, guardian, or chaperone (except during classes).

  • Attire: Proper swimsuits are required. Swimming in street clothing (such as jeans, T-shirts, or cut-off sweatpants) is not permitted.

  • Pool Behavior: Playing on steps or ladders is prohibited. Back flips, back jumps, and back dives are not allowed, even in deep water.

  • Flotation Devices: Only properly fitted, U.S. Coast Guard–approved life vests are allowed and only in shallow water. Wearing a life jacket does not change applicable age or supervision requirements.

  • Toys & Equipment: All play toys must be approved by lifeguard staff before use. TAC-provided equipment is available for patron use at your own risk; please use responsibly.

  • Personal Belongings: Triangle Aquatic Center is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items anywhere in the facility, including restrooms, locker rooms, and lockers (locked or unlocked, rented or not).
