Bruce brings over 30 years of coaching experience at the club and collegiate levels. He elevated the TAC TITANS program from a Bronze Medal Club to a Gold Medal Club in just three years. The TITANS have been ranked as high as first in the Nation according to USA Swimming’s VCC rankings and USA Club Excellence Program He has been recognized by the American Swimming Coaches Association as a Coach of Excellence for the past 10 years.

Bruce has been on five different USA National Team coaching staffs including the 2023 LCM World Championships, 2021 SC World Championships, 2019 World Junior Championships, 2014 SC World Championships and 2012 SC World Championships. He has qualified swimmers for the 2012, 2016, and 2021 Olympic Teams. He has placed swimmers on the USA National Team and USA Junior National Team.

Additional accomplishments include, 2018 National Champion, 2012 Olympic Gold medalist, 2021 Olympic Silver medalist, numerous National Age Group records, USA Club Coach of the Year, ACC Coach of the Year, Conference USA Coach of the Year and Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year honors.
