Tarheel Swimming Association: TAC Torpedoes
Registration Opens Monday, April 1, 2013!
Registration Information
Registrations are accepted in person at the front desk at any time until Monday, May 27. Each member receives a team cap and may wish to purchase the official 2012/2013 team suit, Speedo Mighty Python, available for girls and boys. Special team pricing is available at All American Swim Shop located inside the Triangle Aquatic Center!
Swim team membership is $360 for the first child, $260 for the second, and $210 thereafter. Membership includes team swim cap, team photo, movie night and the Official TSA Championship Event at TAC.
Torpedoes may also use their membership passes through August 31 during all posted lap swim hours.

| Meet Information |
Written notice of missing a meet needs to be given to the coaches 72 hours in advance. If swimmer becomes ill within the 72 please send an e-mail to the coaches immediately. This will ensure that relays are properly entered.

Parent Participation
It takes lots of volunteers to run meets for our children, so we ask that adults from each member family volunteer to work AT LEAST 3 times during the season.
Please refer to the following position descriptions needed (per meet):

Announcer - Using PA system, calls swimmers to each event, announces score updates.
|
|
Kid Pushers - Collects and directs their assigned age group to assigned events as directed by the Announcer.
|
|
Clerk of Course - Directs swimmers, heat by heat, to the blocks for their swims.
|
|
Ribbon Writer - Uses event information to create ribbon labels and then affixes the labels to ribbons for 1st - 6th place finishers.
|
|
Starter - Gives instructions to the swimmers at the start of each event. "Take your mark...etc."
|
|
Stroke and Turn Judges - Monitors swims for infractions and disqualify swimmers as necessary.
|
|
Place Judges - Monitors each main event and calls the swimmer that finishes (each place judge calls 1 place).
|
|
Heat Winner Judge - Awards heat winner ribbons.
|
|
Timers - Runs the stopwatches / timing system buttons.
|
|
Runner - Takes recorder logs to the scorer after each event.
|
|
Recorder - Logs place judge decisions.
|
|
Scorer - Records finishes and DQs and posts results on the score sheet.

Head Coach Kaitlyn Tunstall
TAC is proud to announce Kaitlyn Tunstall as the 2013 Torpedoes Head Coach! Kaitlyn Tunstall or "Coach K" has been swimming her entire life. She began at the age of four for her parent's team and began swimming competitively at the age of 6. She had a very successful high school career, which allowed her to be scholarship athlete for Campbell University from 2009-2013. She completed her college career in February of 2013. Kaitlyn was voted captain by her peers for the 2012-2013 season and specialized in freestyle (from the 50 free-1650 free). Swimming has always been a part of her life and she is excited to share her love for the sport with the TAC Torpedoes.

Assistant Coach Anna Ward
Coach Anna is a natural in the water, and enjoys swimming on her high school team, her summer league team and was a member of the 2011 Raleigh Auroras synchronized swim team! This is Anna's first year as a coach for the Torpedoes and she enthusiastically looks forward to working with Matthew and the rest of the Torpedoes.
