The Aquatics Advisory Board for Triangle Aquatic Center

TAC Wave

The Aquatic Advisory Board (AAB) was formed to support and advise the Triangle Aquatic Center Board of Directors on its mission to build public aquatic facilities throughout the Triangle Region. The AAB is made up of fifteen community leaders throughout the Triangle who believe in the health, safety, recreation and competition benefits of year-round public aquatic facilities and programming for children and adults. The TAC Board sincerely appreciates the members of the AAB who have given their time and interest to help make TAC and the Triangle a better community.

Terry Carlton Terry J. Carlton

Terry Carlton is a partner in the law firm of Jordan Price Wall Gray Jones & Carlton and is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, California and Michigan. The Firm focuses primarily upon the representation of businesses and their respective owners. The Firm provides business and estate planning services as well as representation in general civil and business litigation.

Mr. Carlton's practice focuses primarily on representation of closely-held businesses, and providing assistance in estate planning and commercial real estate transactions.

  
Van Fletcher Van Fletcher

The oldest of three siblings, Van Fletcher grew up in High Point, NC in a fun-loving, tight-knit family where home was a constant gathering place for friends and relatives. At age seven, Van began swimming competitively on a year-round basis. and hasn't taken the goggles off since. Van married Anne Fletcher in 2000 and has two boys, Jack and Luke, and a daughter, Sarah. Van and Anne consider their children endless sources of joy, laughs and gentle reminders of their shortcomings - each child an indescribable gift. When Van is not selling real estate, a career he took to and has loved since 2008, he is wrestling with his boys, on a date with his wife or swimming laps in a pool!

  
Terrance Gill Terrance Gill

After retiring from IBM after 40 years of service in various financial management positions, Terry is currently employed part time as a Financial Analyst and Benefits Administrator for Economy Exterminators, Inc.  He graduated from Rider University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Accounting.

Mr. Gill also served on Cardinal Gibbons High School Board of Trustees from 2000 - 2009, serving the needs of the growing school extremely well throughout his tenure. He served as Treasurer for the North Carolina Chapter of Huntington's Disease Society of America from 2000 - 2004.

Mr. Gill and his wife Barbara reside in Cary, where they raised their children, Daniel, Elizabeth, Brian and Todd. Brian was past coach at Lochmere Swim & Tennis Club, and currently coaches swimming at Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN.

  
Joel Graybeal Joel Graybeal

Joel Graybeal is a Managing Partner of the Triangle Rock Club, the premiere provider of climbing experiences in the Southeast. He began his professional career as an aerospace engineer working in the Pentagon. After completing five years in the defense industry, he moved to the closely related field of mortgage banking. After a 25 year stint in banking, Joel found a professional way to pursue his passion by joining the ownership team of Triangle Rock Club.

Triangle Rock Club (TRC) is one of the fastest growing companies in the Triangle. The Morrisville Chamber of Commerce named TRC as the 2013 Small Business of the Year. TRC is also a nominee for the 2013 NC Small Business of the Year.

Joel continues to be active in the community with his support of the Durham Ronald McDonald House as well as his involvement with Genesis United Methodist Church. He resides in Morrisville - less than a mile from the Triangle Rock Club. When he's not at TRC or rock climbing, he spends time with his two grown children, Tyler and Emily.

  
Anna Hergenrader Anna Hergenrader

Anna Hergenrader is currently a partner at the CPA firm James A. Lucas and Company, LLP. Anna was born in Raleigh, but grew up in Atlanta, GA. She spent three years in the United States Navy immediately following high school as a disbursing clerk, and was stationed onboard the USS Frank Cable out of Charleston, SC until May, 1996. After completion of service, Anna attended Campbell University, and graduated in December, 1999 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. She worked for a CPA firm in Atlanta for two years upon graduation, before moving to Raleigh in August 2001 and joining James A. Lucas and Company, LLP. Anna has been with the firm for eleven years now, and has been a partner since January 2009.

Anna currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband Jeff, and their son. She and her family are members of White Memorial Presbyterian Church. Anna is also a member of the Triangle Area Chapter of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

  
Ruth Jones Ruth Jones

Ruth Jones is a self-taught artist who runs her own art business called Allover Art that specializes in oil paint portraits and hand-painted jewelry. She was born in Cincinnati but moved to the Triangle when she was five, where she has lived her whole life with the exception of attending Rutgers University from 2001-2005 on a swimming scholarship, graduating with a degree in Art History.

Ruth grew up swimming in the Triangle area, where she attended Leesville Road schools and swam year-round with what is now YOTA. Throughout her swimming career she was team captain and received many accolades, including LRHS most outstanding athlete in 2000 & 2001, Raleigh Sports Club Player of the Year in 2001, NCHSAA Class AAAA MVP in 2001, and Scholastic All-American honors. She was also a NC High School record holder, YMCA National record holder, Rutgers school record holder, and Big East record holder. Currently she swims with Raleigh Area Masters and holds NC Masters records. Ruth has extensive experience with coaching and teaching swimmers of all ages, including the head coach position at Haddon Hall in Apex and camp counselor positions at Chuck Warner's Arete Swim Camp.

Ruth also volunteers on a local farm called Valley Love Organic, where she assists with marketing and web presence, as well as other farm duties. Ruth lives in Holly Springs with her husband Matt, also a former swimmer, their son Faelen, and their two dogs.

  
Michelle Lombana Michelle Lombana

Michelle Lombana represents the TITANS Leadership Council.

Michelle grew up in Colorado Springs and lived in Houston for 17 years. She graduated from the University of Denver with a BS'Acc and M'Acc. After working in public accounting and the mortgage banking industry as a CPA for many years, Michelle left the work force to raise her 3 sons and to volunteer in the community. She currently serves as President of the Panther Creek High School PTSA and the Cary Park Sea Dragons and volunteers with several other organizations as well. She and her husband, Rick, a self-employed computer consultant, live in Cary with their 3 sons. Drew attends Belmont University in Nashville and Matt and Greg are in high school. Greg trains and competes in the National/Sectional group of the TAC TITANS.

  
James A. Lucas, Jr. James A. "Jim" Lucas, Jr.

Jim Lucas is managing partner of the accounting firm James A. Lucas and Company, L.L.P. He attended Garner schools for twelve years, graduating in June, 1969. He graduated from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in December, 1973 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Mr. Lucas passed the CPA exam in November, 1973 and joined the firm in January, 1974. In 1985 he became managing partner.

Mr. Lucas was born in Shelby, North Carolina and moved to Garner, North Carolina at the age of four. Mr. Lucas currently resides in Cary with his wife. He and his wife are members of Westwood Baptist Church of Cary.

Mr. Lucas is a member of Triangle Area Chapter of North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Chairman of Executive Committee of Crescent Financial Corporation. Vice-chairman of Board of Directors of Crescent Financial Corporation.

  
Bruce Myers Bruce Myers

Bruce Myers is the new owner/operator of Lugano Ristorante in Cary, NC. He began working at the age of 14 working washing dishes in a privately owned restaurant in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Bruce moved his family from Charlotte, NC where he was the Regional Director at Harper's Restaurant Group. Deciding on spending more time with his family, Bruce chose to run a single unit as the Managing Partner of Biaggi's. The ownership of Biaggi's offered him the opportunity to purchase the restaurant and run it locally. Bruce and his Chef Tom are now the independent local owner/operators of Black Sheep Food Group, LLC which owns Lugano.

His daughter Samantha swam year round in Charlotte eventually calling the Triangle Aquatic Center her "home pool" for the TAC Titans. The family became active with local year round swimming and the lack of water in the Triangle became evident. Bruce was a V. P. of the local team and became interested in the process of building more water for the swimmers of the Triangle. He has attended meetings which became the vision of TAC prior to construction and is proud to serve on the Advisory Board.

  
Nick Paleocrasses Nick Paleocrasses

Nick, a graduate of North Carolina State University, has worked in the Nonqualified Deferred Compensation Plan industry since 1996. He started in the industry, after receiving his MBA from Southern Illinois University, with a local company - Executive Benefit Services - which was purchased by Principal Financial Group in 2001. Nick now works with CAPTRUST Financial Advisors and maintains his focus in the Nonqualified Plan Industry.

Nick was a competitive swimmer from 1979 through 1992. Nick was a three time Greek National Champion in the 50 meter freestyle and a two time medalist in the 100 meter freestyle events. He held the Greek National Long Course record for the 50 meter freestyle from 1992 through 1996 and the short course 100 yard record for a short period of time as well. Nick Paleocrasses represented Greece in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and placed 26th in the 50 meter freestyle.

  
Lee Parker Lee Parker

Lee, a graduate of UNC - Chapel Hill, began his career in 1985 as a financial consultant with Wheat First Securities. In 1998 Lee joined the Reynolds Investment Group and moved his practice to Triangle Securities in September 2000.

As a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor TM, Lee assist individuals, families and business owners with investment management, retirement plan programs, evaluation of financial security and estate planning strategies. Lee has over 20 years experience creating customized portfolio solutions and is series 7, 63, and 65 licensed.

Active in the community, Lee coaches the youth groups at Salvation Army, is a fundraiser for the local YMCA, and is a regular volunteer at Shepherd's Table soup kitchen. Lee enjoys international travel, competitive swimming, tennis, golf, and participating in triathlons. Spending quality time with his wife, Lisa, and two children, Lee and Harris is a top priority. Lee and his family are members of Christ Episcopal Church.

  
  
Henry Stewart Henry Stewart

Henry Stewart is Principal at Digital Benefit Advisors, and employee benefits consulting company.

Stewart has over a decade of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Digital in 2012, he was president of Strategic Benefit Solutions from 2007 to 2012 and a benefits advisor at HCW Benefits. His focus as a consultant has been on the mid-sized market, advising companies in the development of creative solutions, implementation and management of their employee benefits programs. His success stems from a strong belief in educating both employers and employees to make sound decisions regarding health care.

Henry is an accomplished Masters swimmer and holds several NC Masters records. He is a member of the Raleigh Area Masters swim team.

Stewart is on the Board of Directors for the Triangle Association of Health Underwriters, the Raleigh Little Theatre and the NC Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at North Carolina State University.

Henry has been a Raleigh resident since 1993. He is married and has two daughters; Alex, a junior in Journalism at the University of Missouri, and Kim, a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill.

  
Derek Wall Derek Wall

Born and raised in Garner, NC, Derek is a native to Raleigh-Durham and has resided in or around the area for his entire life. Derek graduated from Campbell University in 2007, where he obtained his bachelors of Business Administration while working for Pool Management Group, Inc. Family is of the utmost importance to Derek and he remains very close to his parents, who live in Garner, and to his younger sister, Corey, who currently resides in Virginia Beach, VA.

Derek is the President-Owner of Triangle Aquatics, LLC - a full service pool management company based out of Cary that serves Wake, Chatham, Orange and Durham counties. Derek works daily to enforce and grow Triangle Aquatics' mission to support the growth and enjoyment of aquatics throughout the Triangle. He enjoys assisting communities discover new ways to more efficiently and effectively operate their aquatic facilities in order to ensure that swimming pools remain viable and vibrant for generations to come.

  
Alisa Wright Colopy Alisa Wright Colopy, MA, MPH

Alisa is a community volunteer in the health and fitness arena with a long professional career in public health, academia and coaching. Over the course of the past 12 years, she has worked with the several Cary organizations including the Triangle Aquatics Center, the Cary Family YMCA, Cary Academy, AARP of North Carolina, Lochmere Swim & Tennis, the Cary Chamber and the Cary Community Foundation. She has a passion for fitness and health that is evident in every aspect of her life and one that keeps her involved in the community.

Fit & Able Productions, Inc, a nonprofit company started by Alisa celebrates 10 years of community service this year. Fit & Able provides her community many event and training programs designed to get people of all ages and skill levels moving.  All Fit & Able events are inclusive events where physically and mentally challenged athletes have the same opportunities and starting line as everyone else.
